Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from my first session?

The first 1 to 2 sessions includes an intake assessment. It is similar to an assessment that you may have with a physician. The assessment will cover several different areas in depth including your family history, mental health history, school/or work history or performance, and presenting concern. After the assessment, we create a plan for treatment and goals for therapy. During the first session, we also review informed consent and the counseling agreement. Review and sign the agreement before your first session so that you are familiar with the document and can ask any questions that you may have.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, for residents of North Carolina, we accept Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO insurance plans. We only offer virtual therapy sessions for clients residing in North Carolina.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions typically last for 50 minutes. The intake assessment is longer than average sessions as it lasts about 75 to 90 minutes. Clients will typically have 50 minute sessions weekly. There are also options for 75 minute sessions bi-weekly and counseling packages. Please call or email for more information.
